Your Google Meet notes, written into your own Google Doc.
QuietSeat joins the Google Meet meetings you own as a visible participant, transcribes them live, and keeps a short summary up to date in your Google Doc. No extension, no tab sharing, no uploads.
Free beta. An invitation code is required.
Open QuietSeatHow it works
- Sign in with Google. Approve the permissions listed below on Google's own consent page.
- Turn on automatic listening. QuietSeat adds its assistant (a Google account named "QuietSeat Notetaker") to your Meet meetings. No invitation email is sent.
- Read along in your Doc. During the meeting, the live transcript and a summary updated about every 60 seconds are written into a Google Doc in your Drive. Passages the speech recognition is unsure about are marked "unconfirmed".
Privacy at a glance
- Meeting audio is not stored.
- Transcript and summary copies on our server are deleted after 7 days. The Doc in your Drive is yours and stays there.
- QuietSeat accesses only the calendar events you own and the Docs it creates (or you select). It cannot read your other Drive files.
- Disconnect at any time: your tokens and server-side data are deleted immediately.
- We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
What QuietSeat asks Google for
- Sign-in (
openid, email): to identify your account. - Google Calendar (
calendar.events.owned): to find the Meet meetings you own and add the assistant as an attendee, with no email notification. Only the attendee list is changed. - Google Drive (
drive.file): to create Docs and write into them. Limited to files QuietSeat creates or you select.
Good to know
- The meeting host decides who is admitted. Some organizations' Google Meet settings block external participants; in that case the assistant cannot join.
- The assistant is visible to everyone in the meeting. You are responsible for telling participants and for following the recording and transcription laws that apply where the meeting is held.
- Beta limits: 300 minutes per user per month, up to 90 minutes per meeting, one meeting at a time. The service may be paused when the overall cost cap is reached.
- Available to users in Asia-Pacific and the United States, aged 18 or over. Not available in the EU/EEA, the United Kingdom, or mainland China.
